Increasing the thermal conductivity of a polypropylene by adding carbon black and determining the anisotropic thermal conductivity properties using the hot disc method
Thermophysical properties such as thermal conductivity can be influenced by adding fillers to polymers. In this application note, the influence of carbon black on the thermal conductivity of a polypropylene was determined. The hot disc method used can also be used to investigate the directional dependence (anisotropy) of the thermal conductivity induced by the manufacturing process.
