Production of homogeneous polymer test specimens for the characterisation of temperature- and time-dependent mechanical parameters as a basis for FEM simulation to increase the reliability of electronic assemblies

This application note from the Fraunhofer Institute IKTS describes the use of a THINKY centrifugal mixer for the production of polymer samples for material testing. Compared to manually produced test specimens, the mixer achieves significant improvements in homogeneity and freedom from air bubbles.
