ALS counter-electrodes
ALS counter-electrodes
Counter electrodes (auxiliary electrodes) for various applications, such as CV, LSV and DPVALS offers counter electrodes made from a variety of electrode materials and in various designs and sizes.
Product Description
The counter electrodes, also known as auxiliary electrodes, can be used for a wide range of electrochemical tests such as cyclic voltammetry CV, linear sweep voltammetry LSV or differential pulse voltammetry DPV.
In electrochemical tests with a potentiostat and a 3-electrode arrangement, the counter electrode is required as a current source and the current flowing through the cell is measured during potential regulation between the working and counter electrodes.
The second electron transfer reaction takes place at the counter electrode, and the electrode should therefore provide a sufficiently large surface area and be inert itself in order to avoid possible side reactions.
If by-products are generated and contact with the product must be avoided, measuring cells with a separate counter-electrode space such as the sample vial or the bulk electrolysis cell can be used.
