Flow cells for the detection of extremely low concentrations in combination with HPLC, FIA (flow injection analysis) and for use in biosensor technology.

ALS offers a range of flow cells. These include cross-flow cells with a linear, laminar flow pattern and radial-flow cells with a central sample inlet and a radial outlet channel. The cells are used for detection with analytical systems such as HPLC, FIA and microcapillary liquid chromatography.

Product Description

The cross flow cells allow the quantification of lowest concentrations of up to 10 * 10-15 mol/l at flow rates between 1 ml/min and 100 µl/min.

The cells are used as detectors in combination with HPLC or FIA and can also be useful in biosensor development. The use of PEEK to manufacture the cells and working electrodes offers various advantages, the hard material is very stable, chemically almost inert and also shields quite well against external interference coupling. The working electrodes are available with different electrode materials, glassy carbon is used for most redox reactions, carbon, carbon paste and gold are used in the biochemical field. Nickel, silver and platinum are also available for special applications.

The dual version of the working electrodes can be used in series and in parallel arrangement, the parallel arrangement increases the sensitivity, the serial use increases the selectivity.

The radial flow cell was developed for microcapillary (microbore) chromatography. The operation of a thin-layer cell with a symmetrical design, in which the sample feed impinges centrally on the electrode and is then distributed radially and flows off, increases the sensitivity of the measurement. The detection efficiency is significantly increased at flow rates of 10 µL/min or less.
