ALS QCM sensing cells
ALS QCM sensing cells
QCM and eQCM sensing cells for use with quartz microbalanceseQCM cells are required for simple measurements using quartz crystal microbalances (QCM) and for combined measurements using QCM and electrochemical methods (eQCM). The ALS cells can be used flexibly, either as static cells or as flow cells.
Product Description
Quartz microbalances can very sensitively detect mass changes on an electrode on a quartz oscillator. Deposits, dissolution or adsorption processes change the mass and thus the resonant frequency of the quartz crystal installed in the measuring cell.
These changes can be caused, for example, in the flow cell by changes in the flowing medium. The method can therefore be used to investigate a wide variety of processes. Corrosion, inhibition, biochemical detection and selective adsorption are just a few examples.
The simultaneous use of electrochemical methods in the eQCM measuring cells allows the mass changes to be detected during the electrochemical processes controlled by a potentiostat and provides additional information on the reactions taking place.
The eQCM measuring cell can be used both statically and as a flow-through cell. Depending on the side used, a normal aqueous or a non-aqueous reference electrode is used for static operation. The screw type electrode is used for the flow-through mode.
All 14 mm types with HC48/U receptacle can be used as quartz crystals in the measuring cell. These crystals are available with different resonance frequencies and with different metal electrodes, such as gold, platinum, silver, nickel, copper, iron etc., but also with carbon.
