ALS voltammetry cells
ALS voltammetry cells
Voltammetric cells with different volumes and versatile applicationsThese cells offer a wide range of applications, including CV, LSV and DPV. Variable volumes simplify their use for analysing minute quantities or expensive chemicals, as well as for electrolysis or electrosynthesis in the bulk electrolysis cell. Flat, solid substrates can be analysed in the plate material evaluating cell.
Product Description
The universally usable SVC-2 voltammetry cell replaces a whole series of previously available measuring cells, as it can be used in different configurations.
The cell can hold two 6 mm electrodes (VC-2 mode) or one 6 and one 10 mm electrode (VC-5 mode), the counter electrode is a platinum wire electrode supplied in the set. In addition, a salt bridge (double junction) can be used for the reference electrode with a 9 mm sample holder (SVC-3C mode). For very small electrolyte volumes, e.g. with expensive ionic liquids, a few 100 ul in the sample holder can accommodate the working and counter electrodes and be inserted into the measuring cell with conducting electrolyte and reference electrode (MCA mode).
Thanks to the O-ring seal of the electrodes and the PTFE cover to the cell, it is possible to work in most of the modes mentioned with the exclusion of oxygen; the cover has openings for tubes for gas inlet and outlet.
The SVC-3 can accommodate six 6 mm electrodes so that, for example, a coiled counter electrode can also be used.
If only a small volume of electrolyte (1 – 3 ml) is used frequently, the VC-4 provides a cell with a volume of 5 ml. It can accommodate two 6 mm electrodes and is supplied with a platinum wire counter electrode.
If electrolysis or electrosynthesis reactions are to be analysed, the Bulk Electrolysis Cell is the ideal choice. With a volume of 100 ml, a chamber for the counter electrode separated by a glass frit and a large-area carbon electrode grid, this cell offers the best conditions for these applications. As an alternative to the carbon grid, platinum grids are also available.
Temperature-controlled glass cells are also available as an option for all the above-mentioned cells, so that the reactions can be carried out at controlled temperatures.
The Plate Material Evaluating Cell offers a quick way of using and analysing flat substrates as working electrodes without the need for extensive sample preparation. The upper part of the cell holds a reference electrode and a platinum wire counter electrode is supplied.
