Product Description

Gas scrubbers (6-100 litres) are used for gas scrubbing, gas cleaning and exhaust gas purification. The glass apparatus is located in a solid stainless steel frame and is mobile.

The exhaust gases, which are mostly produced from the chemical process, must not be released into the environment without further ado. A glass gas scrubber can be used to purify the exhaust gases. Depending on the amount of waste gas, there are different sizes that we offer as standard. A customised design of the gas scrubber is possible.

The glass gas scrubber receives the harmful exhaust gases in the upper area of the scrubbing liquid collection vessel and guides the exhaust gases through the column in counterflow to the scrubbing medium. The scrubbing liquid is circulated by a chemical-resistant, explosion-proof centrifugal pump. The thermal energy generated during cleaning is counteracted by a liquid cooler.
Connections between two glass components are usually joined using the Buchi-Flex connection system. This guarantees a uniquely stress-free and flexible structure, which can also be installed by non-professionals. The Buchi-Flex glass connection system is TA-Luft-compliant.

The components of the mixing vessels that come into contact with the product, regardless of whether they come into contact with liquids or gases, are metal-free as standard. The main materials that come into contact with your product (chemicals) are glass, PTFE and ECTFE. This makes them suitable for use in the pharmaceutical and electronics (semiconductor) industries.

Options and Accessories

• Coating: Glass components may be coated for various reasons when used outdoors. One reason for coating would be to provide protection against breakage and splintering.

• pH probe: Standard pH probes can be inserted into the gas scrubber via a pH adapter. Explosion-proof models are also available.

• Double-walled vessel: The glass vessels can be designed with single, double or triple walls. A double jacket allows glass vessels to be tempered gently and without stress.

• Insulating sleeves – are custom-made for individual glass components and protect the glass components from cooling too quickly or maintain the temperature within the system.

• Triple-walled vessel: The glass vessels can be designed with single, double or triple walls. Thanks to the evacuated area, the triple-walled vessel is particularly well suited for low-temperature applications.

• I&C package: In addition to the standard measurement, control and regulation components, Buchi systems can be expanded with customised I&C packages.
