Product archive | Büchi AG - Glass systems, Glass systems | Topic: Glass systems - Special glass apparatus
Glassware not included in the Buchi catalogue

The glass systems are available as standard from the catalogue or can be designed and manufactured to meet the user’s specific requirements. We will discuss the options with you in detail during a consultation. At the start of the project, your requirements will be drawn up in 2D and 3D and approved in consultation with you prior to manufacture.

Product Description

The glass systems are available from the catalogue (standard) or specially designed and manufactured to the user’s requirements. We will inform you about the possibilities in a detailed consultation. When deciding on a glass system, your requirements are drawn in 2D and 3D and approved by the user before production.

Specialities or special features start with small details and end with complete process engineering systems. Is it just a connection that you would prefer to have in a milk pipe thread or a Kamlok connection instead of a hose olive or do you have a complete system in mind that does not yet exist. No matter how complex your special requirements may seem, we will endeavour to implement them within the scope of what is technically possible.

Connections between two glass components are usually joined using the Buchi-Flex connection system. This guarantees a uniquely stress-free and flexible structure, which can also be installed by the hirer. The Buchi-Flex glass connection system is of course TA-Luft-compliant.

The components of the special systems that come into contact with the product, regardless of whether they come into contact with liquids or gases, are metal-free as standard. The main materials that come into contact with your product (chemicals) are glass, enamel, PTFE and PFA. This makes them suitable for use in the pharmaceutical and electronics (semiconductor) industries.
We also use metallic materials on express request. Special materials such as Hastelloy, titanium, tantalum etc. are also possible.

Options and Accessories

MiniPilot: The MiniPilot (2–15 litres) is a glass reactor (glass stirring system) that can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The glass apparatus is housed in a sturdy stainless steel frame.

MidiPilot: The MidiPilot series (15–30 litres) comprises a chemical reactor (glass stirring reactor) which can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, distillation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The apparatus consists of a glass vessel, a coated lid and glass fittings. The components are housed in a sturdy stainless steel frame.

BR series: The BR series (15–60 (100) litres) comprises a chemical reactor (glass stirred reactor) which can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, distillation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The apparatus consists of a glass vessel and glass fittings. The components are housed in a sturdy stainless steel frame.

GR series: The GR series (15–60 (100) litres) is a glass reactor (glass stirring system) which can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, distillation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The glass apparatus is housed in a sturdy stainless steel frame.

CR series: The CR series (15–250 litres) comprises a chemical reactor (stirred reactor) which can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, distillation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The apparatus consists of an enamelled steel vessel and glass components. The components are housed in a sturdy stainless steel frame.

Filter funnels: Buchi filter funnels can be used to separate solids from the fluid after the reaction.
Gas scrubbers: The Buchi gas scrubber can be used to purify the exhaust gases produced during the reaction.

• Stirring junctions: Buchi glass apparatus is available with in-house stirring junctions that have been refined over decades (magnetic coupling or double-acting radial shaft seal).
