The Cole-Parmer HG-200 GenoLyte® cell lysis mill allows the use of sample vessels made from a choice of plastic, stainless steel, agate or tungsten carbide. The various sample matrices are lysed or ground with maximum efficiency using a unique grinding motion in the shape of a horizontal figure of eight at a maximum speed of 4000 rpm.

The Cole-Parmer HG-200 GenoLyte® cell disruption mill is the entry into mechanical cell disruption – highest efficiency due to unique grinding motion.

The GenoLyte® achieves the best possible grinding and mixing results in the shortest possible time thanks to the unique grinding movement in the form of a horizontal figure of eight and a maximum speed of 4000 rpm. It is possible to use 6 x 2ml, 4 x 5ml, 2 x 7ml, 2 x 12ml plastic sample tubes as well as agate or tungsten carbide grinding containers (1 x 3.5 or 5ml each). The disposable vessels available prevent contamination and save time. In addition, numerous different separate grinding media and digestion kits with ready-prepared vessels filled with sample-specific grinding balls or beads are available to the user for homogenising a variety of sample types. Depending on the sample type, the user can choose between kits with zirconium or silica beads. These optimised kit combinations for efficient cell disruption and subsequent nucleic acid isolation guarantee the highest yields of high-purity RNA, DNA or proteins and other biomolecules.

With a few simple steps, the already filled or empty sample holder of the HG-200 GenoLyte® is inserted into the holding clamp, which is then closed and secured. The user closes the lid, selects the digestion time in seconds or minutes and the speed and presses the start button. The unique digestion movement in the form of a horizontal figure of eight supports a homogeneous and reproducible digestion result across all individual tubes. In addition, the extremely fast cell disruption due to the very high speed (750 – 4,000 revolutions per minute) protects the components to be extracted and ensures complete grinding even of difficult materials. The transparent lid of the Cole-Parmer HG-200 GenoLyte® cell disruption mill enables continuous monitoring of the disruption by visual inspection during the entire process. The digestion procedure ends automatically after the time has elapsed, but can be interrupted manually by the operator at any time. A safety mechanism interrupts the digestion process immediately if an attempt is made to open the lid of the device.Typical samples include human and animal tissue, plants and plant parts, cell cultures, fruit, vegetables and cereals, cannabis, seeds, yeasts and bacteria, but it is also possible to grind soil, stones and minerals.

The Cole-Parmer HG-200 GenoLyte® cell disruption mill enables fast and efficient disruption and homogenisation of all types of animal and plant samples for subsequent analysis. In addition, special grinding containers also make it suitable for use in mineralogy.
