An affordable entry-level solution for the mechanical cell lysis of temperature-sensitive samples, utilising rapid and efficient homogenisation for up to three 2ml sample vials simultaneously.

The Cole-Parmer HG-250 GenoLyte® temperature-controlled cell lysis mill enables the simultaneous cell lysis of up to three temperature-sensitive samples in 2ml plastic sample vials. The various sample matrices are lysed or ground with maximum efficiency using a unique grinding motion in the shape of a horizontal figure of eight at a maximum speed of 3000 rpm.

Product Description

The temperature-controlled Cole-Parmer HG-250 GenoLyte® is the entry into mechanical cell disruption of temperature-sensitive samples – highest efficiency due to unique grinding motion.

The GenoLyte® achieves the best possible grinding and mixing results in the shortest possible time thanks to the unique grinding movement in the form of a horizontal figure of eight and a maximum speed of 3000 rpm. 3 x 2ml plastic sample tubes can be used. The disposable vessels available prevent contamination and save time. In addition, numerous different separate grinding media and digestion kits with ready-prepared vessels filled with sample-specific grinding balls or beads are available to the user for homogenising a wide range of sample types. Depending on the sample type, the user can choose between kits with zirconium or silica beads. These optimised kit combinations for efficient cell disruption and subsequent nucleic acid isolation guarantee the highest yields of high-purity RNA, DNA or proteins and other biomolecules.

With a few simple steps, the filled sample tubes are inserted into the sample holder of the HG-250 GenoLyte® and then closed and secured. The user closes the lid, selects the digestion time in seconds or minutes and the speed and presses the start button. It is also possible to programme several digestion cycles. The unique digestion movement in the form of a horizontal figure of eight supports a homogeneous and reproducible digestion result across all individual tubes. In addition, the extremely fast cell disruption due to the very high speed (2,000 – 3,000 revolutions per minute) protects the components to be extracted and ensures complete disruption even of difficult samples. The transparent lid of the Cole-Parmer HG-250 GenoLyte® temperature-controlled cell disruption mill enables continuous monitoring of the disruption by visual inspection throughout the entire process. The digestion procedure ends automatically after the time has elapsed, but can be interrupted manually by the operator at any time. A safety mechanism interrupts the digestion process immediately if an attempt is made to open the lid of the device.Typical samples include human and animal tissues, plants and plant parts, cell cultures, fruits, vegetables and grains, cannabis, seeds, yeasts and bacteria.

The temperature-controlled cell disruption mill Cole-Parmer HG-250 GenoLyte® enables fast and efficient disruption and homogenisation of all types of animal and plant samples for subsequent analysis.
