Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® Disc Vibrating Mill
Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® Disc Vibrating Mill
For the extremely rapid comminution of hard, medium-hard, brittle and fibrous laboratory samples to analytical fineness. Dry or in suspension. The Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® can grind 5–150 g of sample material per run, with ten individually configurable grinding programmes available for this purpose. Depending on the hardness of the sample, grinding tools made of hardened steel, tungsten carbide, aluminium oxide or zirconium oxide are available. For user safety, the device features a safety lock, whilst sound insulation ensures the best possible protection against excessive noise.
Product Description
In the Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® vibrating disc mill, grinding is carried out by horizontal circular vibrations of the grinding set on a vibrating plate.
The grinding set, consisting of one or more rings and a core, crushes the material to be ground using extremely high pressure, impact and friction. To make life easier for the user, the grinding set is positioned precisely and clamped with defined pressure fully automatically. The lid is also opened and closed automatically. The capacity of the available grinding sets ranges from 5 to 150 g. Grinding sets made of different materials with different grinding volumes are available. Grinding can be dry or wet, with or without grinding aids.
The Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® vibratory disc mill is equipped with an industry-standard control system with IP65 protection, which is operated via a user-friendly touchscreen. The user has several languages to choose from. For communication purposes, the Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® has a USB port for reading in and out grinding programmes. The housing of the Shatterbox® has a sound insulation lining and a particularly secure, double locking mechanism for the lid. If required, the appliance is mobile on lockable castors.
As the Cole-Parmer SM-300 Shatterbox® vibratory disc mill achieves very high final finenesses in a very short time, it is particularly suitable for sample preparation for spectral analysis and, due to its robust design, has proven itself particularly well in the building materials sector (cement), in geology, mineralogy, metallurgy and in power plants.
Areas of application:
Mining, metallurgy, ceramics industry, building materials, geology, mineralogy, agriculture and environment, infrared and X-ray fluorescence analysis
Sample spectrum:
Soils, concrete, electronic components, ores, glass, ceramics, coal, coke, corundum, metal oxides, minerals, plant parts, slag, silicates, cement, cement clinker, …
