Cole-Parmer XP-400 X-Press® Press
Cole-Parmer XP-400 X-Press® Press
Pressing and pelletising – Reproducible – simple – fast... the fully automatic and programmable XP-400 X-Press® press (formerly SPEX 3636 X-Press) for a pressing range of 9.1 to 31.8 tonnesThe Cole-Parmer XP-400 X-Press® is programmed via an intuitive touchscreen display, and the subsequent pressing process is fully automatic. By simply changing the pressing tools without the need for any tools, pellets with diameters of 13 mm, 31 mm, 35 mm and 40 mm can be produced for RFA or IR measurements.
Product Description
For spectral analysis methods, the sample material is often brought into tablet form with a very smooth surface. This is done by pressing from a powdery material.
The lack of reproducibility is often a major problem here. The Cole-Parmer XP-400 X-Press® is a fully automatic, programmable laboratory press with a maximum pressure of 31.8 tonnes, whereby the available pressure range is 9.1 to 31.8 tonnes. The press is electro-hydraulic and can be used with 13 mm, 31 mm, 35 mm and 40 mm pressing tools. Thanks to the number of programmable parameters (e.g. pressing pressure, holding time, unloading time), the user achieves highly reproducible pressed part production, with user-friendly input via a touchscreen. To protect the operator, the press has a viewing window that is locked during the pressing process and an automatic switch-off function in the event of faults in the hydraulic system. The XP-400 X-Press® is the ideal tool for the production of pellets for XRF, IR or other analytical techniques. Typical samples are cement, rock, minerals, soil samples, ceramics and pharmaceuticals.
We offer a wide range of accessories for all presses and for the actual analysis, such as pressing tools in various diameters (13, 31, 35 and 40 mm), aluminium cups and pressing aids for your individual requirements. The pressing tools for the production of KBr pellets for IR and XRF spectroscopy consist of an evacuable body with lower part, pressing plunger and vacuum seal, two polished steel pressing discs and an ejection ring for the pellets.
