Katanax XFP-01 FluxPenser®
Katanax XFP-01 FluxPenser®
The Katanax XFP-01 FluxPenser® automatic dispenser – Precise and reproducible weighing of flux – includes a scale and is LIMS-compatible.There are two operating modes available for weighing the flux: either weighing a defined quantity (for ICP) or weighing it in a specific ratio to the sample (for XRF). The correct quantity is calculated automatically, and the weighing accuracy is 1 mg.
Product Description
The Katanax XFP-01 FluxPenser® automatic dispenser – precise and reproducible weighing of melting agents – including scales and LIMS compatibility.
Weighing melting agents in preparation for melt digestion is usually a process that ties up limited human resources for a repetitive work step. By automating this step, the correct amount of melting agent is always weighed in with the highest precision, without any intervention by the user. Only the sample itself needs to be weighed manually, the rest is done automatically with the highest precision and reproducibility.
Two operating modes can be selected for weighing the melting agent. When preparing solutions for subsequent ICP analysis, it is usually preferable to weigh in a defined, fixed quantity of melting agent. In this case, exactly the same quantity is always dispensed (e.g. 8 grams). The second preferred operating mode for the production of melting tablets enables the weighing in of melting agent in a fixed ratio to the sample (e.g. 1 to 8). The amount of melting agent to be weighed in is automatically calculated by the FluxPenser® and adjusted to the amount of sample weighed in. This avoids errors when calculating the amount of melting agent. The desired operating mode is simply selected at the touch of a button on the control unit. For automatic dosing, the melting agent must be available as granulate or in the form of beads (pre-fused beads); the FluxPenser® is not suitable for weighing in powdered melting agent. In general, weighing is carried out with an accuracy of 1 mg; it is not necessary for the user to provide a suitable scale. There is also no need to decant the melting agent with the risk of contamination or to refill a storage container, as the original container of the melting agent also serves as a storage container. This also efficiently prevents the unintentional use of an unsuitable melting agent mixture. Once the weighing process is complete, the data can be transferred directly to the software of the XRF device or directly to the LIMS (Laboratory Information System) for documentation and further processing.
With the XFP-01 FluxPenser® from Katanax, the melting agent is weighed out with maximum precision and reproducibility while reducing errors at the same time.
