Mixing and degassing in a single step, aided by an integrated vacuum pump

Highly efficient vacuum laboratory mixer: enables contact-free mixing, dispersing and degassing with an integrated vacuum pump directly in the beaker without a stirring mechanism! The centrifugal force effectively prevents the medium from foaming. Thanks to the integrated vacuum pump, even the smallest air bubbles are removed.


Product Description

The ARV-310 and its variants ARV-310P and ARV-310LED are non-contact vacuum planetary centrifugal mixers for mixing, dispersing and degassing material in a single work step and within a short time. This highly efficient mixing process results from the superimposition of two movements of the mixing vessel – a centrifugal and a rotational movement. As the technology does not require an agitator, the sample material, e.g. fibrous or microencapsulated components, is not destroyed by agitators.

To remove gas bubbles below 10µm or at higher viscosities (e.g. with epoxy resins, silicones or other fast-curing adhesive systems), external vacuum chambers and a separate work step are conventionally used. A major advantage of the Thinky vacuum mixer is that the user can mix and degas in one step and in the same container. The continuous circulation of the sample also significantly increases the effectiveness of degassing. The difference is often only visible under the microscope – it’s worth taking a closer look!

The vacuum pump is specified up to 7 mbar and is fully integrated into the housing and the control electronics of this device. This offers various advantages, such as particularly quiet operation, savings in working space or optimised pressure control with short hose lengths. We install high-quality vacuum pumps based on the rotary vane principle from German brand manufacturers that have proven their robustness countless times in the field. In addition to a reliable sealing surface on the vacuum chamber, a transparent lid has been installed – this makes it possible to determine at a glance whether the selected pressure is below the vapour pressure of a component within the sample. The disc would fog up within a very short time due to the condensing vapours.

If condensing vapours cannot be avoided, a cold trap can simply be attached to the outside of the housing.

Media that tend to foam under vacuum can also be processed without any problems, as this is effectively prevented by the centrifugal force.

A special variant that we offer separately is the ARV-310LED. This device was designed with the special requirements of LED paste production in mind. The main differences are the mechanical gearbox for maximum service life in tough everyday production, the adapted speed and the transmission ratio between the two rotary movements. The latter is based on the experience of our customers in the industry and has proven to be ideal for mixing heavy powders such as phosphorus in low-viscosity silicone pastes.

The entire process is programme-controlled. You can set up to 9 mixing programmes consisting of up to 5 steps, consisting of speed, time and pressure.

The new ARV-310P even has 20 mixing programmes that can be saved. In addition to the step number, mixing time and actual pressure, the new 4.3″ touch panel now also displays the actual speed in real time.
Any error messages now also contain information on possible causes and instructions on how to rectify them. With the integrated RS232C interface, it also has the option of either controlling the device completely using a PC or Windows tablet or simply monitoring it (data logging). A corresponding mixing log can be saved automatically if required. The device also saves an alarm history. A software example and an interface description are included. The ARV-310P therefore fulfils the requirements for use in manufacturing companies with corresponding quality assurance.
