ALS reference electrodes
ALS reference electrodes
Reference electrodes are used for a wide variety of electrochemical measurements.Reference electrodes are required for virtually all types of electrochemical measurements. In addition to a range of electrodes for aqueous electrolytes, ALS also offers electrodes for organic media and a reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE).
Product Description
In addition to electrochemical redox methods (CV, LSV, DPV, etc.), reference electrodes are also used for corrosion measurements, sensor technology and in flow cells for electrochemical detection.
Silver/silver chloride and mercury-based electrodes are used in aqueous media. These are available in different sizes and designs. NaCl or KCl is usually used as the internal electrolyte. Screw-in electrodes (screw type) are available for the electrochemical flow cells and the SEC-3F spectro-electrochemical flow cell. If the measurement requires chloride-free electrodes, the mercury sulphate (RE-2CP) with potassium sulphate filling can be used.
If the medium is alkaline, the mercury oxide electrode (RE-61AP) should be used. It is filled with sodium or potassium hydroxide electrolyte.
