Büchi GR-System glass reactor (15 … 60 (100) litres)
Büchi GR-System glass reactor (15 … 60 (100) litres)
Glass distillation apparatus with a stirring flask, a versatile glass hood or a high-quality enamelled lidThe GR series (15–60 (100) litres) is a glass reactor (glass stirring system) that can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, distillation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The glass apparatus is housed in a sturdy stainless steel frame.
Product Description
The GR series (15 – 60 (100) litres) is a glass reactor (glass stirring system) which can be used for stirring, extraction, phase separation, distillation, homogenisation, concentration, etc. The glass apparatus is located in a solid stainless steel frame.
The glass cover or the solid, chemical-resistant lid carries the double-acting, dry-running, explosion-proof agitator shaft seal and the other superstructures, such as valve technology, hand hole, safety device, temperature sensor, pressure gauge and, if required, feed vessels and distillation assembly. Thanks to the uniquely flexible Buchi-Flex connection system, only a few brackets are required in the frame.
The agitator shaft seal (ATEX-compliant), which was developed in-house by Buchi, has been further developed and optimised over decades. It provides a double-acting seal on the agitator shaft using precisely harmonised sealing technology. This protects people and products from interaction.
The explosion-proof agitator shaft seal is driven by a suitably customised explosion-proof drive. The speed is variably adjustable via a handwheel. Both the agitator shaft and the agitator geometries (armature, propeller, impeller, etc.) are available in various materials.
Connections between two glass components are usually joined using the Buchi-Flex connection system. This guarantees a uniquely stress-free and flexible structure, which can also be installed by the hirer. The Buchi-Flex glass connection system is of course TA-Luft-compliant.
The components of the BR series that come into contact with the product, whether in contact with liquids or gases, are metal-free as standard. The main materials that come into contact with your product (chemicals) are glass, enamel, PTFE and PFA. This makes them suitable for use in the pharmaceutical and electronics (semiconductor) industries.

Options and Accessories
Second feed vessel: The glass assembly surrounding the glass stirred reactor can be easily extended to include a second feed vessel. Alternatively, dosing systems using pumps or other equipment are possible.
Lowering device: With the aid of the lowering device, the user can lower the reactor safely and easily from the lid. This simplifies, for example, vessel changes, cleaning, or filling and emptying procedures.
Coating: Glass assemblies can be coated on the outside for various reasons. One argument in favour of coating would be protection against breakage and splintering.
CIP nozzle: The CIP cleaning nozzle can be fitted to the lid plate via a quick-release fastener. The rotating head of the cleaning nozzle sprays the cleaning medium into the interior of the glass reactor at varying pressures.
pH probe: Standard pH probes can be inserted into the MiniPilot via a pH probe holder, which protects the sensitive pH probe. Explosion-proof models are also available.
Gas inlet tube
: With the aid of the gas inlet tube, gases (or liquids) can be introduced directly into the medium to be stirred.
Sampling systems
: The sampling system is mounted on one of the free openings in the cover plate or glass hood and enables intelligent sampling from the reactor without having to open it.
Insulation sleeves – are custom-made for individual glass components and protect the glass components from cooling down too quickly or maintain the temperature within the system.
Triple-walled vessel: The glass vessels can be designed with single, double or triple walls. Thanks to its evacuated outer jacket, the triple-walled vessel is particularly well-suited for low-temperature applications.
I&C package
: In addition to the standard measurement, control and regulation components, Buchi systems can be expanded with customised I&C packages.
Filter funnel
: Buchi filter funnels can be used to separate solids from the fluid after the reaction.
Gas scrubber
: The Buchi gas scrubber can be used to purify the exhaust gases produced during the reaction.
