CalCommander software – a universal tool for all areas of application
CalCommander software – a universal tool for all areas of application
Standard packages for control/analysis and specialised software packages, some of which are optional, e.g. for simulationThe CalCommander base software, and in particular the optional software packages, are precisely tailored to the needs of industry and research in the cement, mortar and concrete sectors. From quality control to the optimisation of existing formulations and the development of new, innovative ones, they provide users with all the necessary tools.
The Flexical software extends the software’s scope of application to the fields of life sciences and general materials research.
Product Description
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal Logger: The I-Cal Logger software controls the calorimeter systems. The user can start or stop the recording and capture other relevant data for the experiment, which is saved together with the heat flow curve. I-Cal Logger logs and displays online the heat flow and hydration energy as absolute values or normalised to the weight of pure cement or the total mass of the cementitious material. Interim reports can be generated during data recording.
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal Reports: I-Cal Reports is used to retrieve curves from completed experiments, zoom in on parts of the measurement curve for more detailed analysis, create comprehensive reports or save diagrams as images. The graphs can be displayed as heat flow or hydration energy as absolute values or normalised to the unit weight of cement or cementitious material. The data can also be exported in a format that is compatible with spreadsheet programmes such as Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal Set: With the I-Cal Set software package, you can derive the setting times directly from the heat flow curves. Based on the proven “fractions” method, it is quick to set up and easy to use. Users can create correlation files for given mix designs to fine-tune results. The software also provides a graphical representation of the curing time window for each compound analysed.
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal Strength: I-Cal Strength can be used in two ways:
1. prediction of compressive strength without physical testing. The I-Cal Strength software module helps to establish the correlation between the calorimetric heat flow curve of a given mix and the compressive strength values of the set / cured material. This correlation is then used to predict the compressive strength each time tests are performed with the same mix design.
2. perform a physical compressive strength test for some curing times and use the calorimetric heat flow curve to estimate the strength at other curing times. This helps to reduce the cost burden of physical testing or to obtain compressive strength values when physical testing is not usually performed, e.g. at night or on weekends.
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal AE: AE = Activation Energy is often used in predictions based on the degree of maturity of the setting of concrete to infer the tendency to crack or increase compressive strength. I-Cal AE determines the activation energy of a predominantly Portland cement-based mix or a high-volume pozzolanic mix or alkali-activated systems such as geopolymers.I-Cal AE also represents the Arrhenius plot, which quickly characterises the behaviour of a particular mix and its sensitivity to temperature variations.
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal HoH: I-Cal HoH (HoH = Heat of Hydration) is used to determine the exact value of the heat of hydration of a cement or cementitious system. The user has the option of using input fields, calculations and reports designed for use with the ASTM C1702 standard.
Calmetrix CalCommander I-Cal SO3: I-Cal SO3 is an application that uses calorimetric heat flow curves for sulphate optimisation of cement. It is based on the ASTM C563 standard and uses the heat of hydration as a proxy for compressive strength.
The use of I-Cal SO3 makes continuous quality control of the SO3 content very easy for a cement manufacturer, as labour-intensive and costly compressive strength tests can be avoided or at least reduced.
