Gamry – Dr Bob’s Measurement Cell Set
Gamry – Dr Bob’s Measurement Cell Set
Dr Bob’s sensor cell set, made entirely from inert materials, is used in a wide range of applications to characterise unknown electroactive species. The Dr. Bob’s measuring cell set can be used as an electrochemical measuring cell with micro- and macro-working electrodes made of platinum, gold and glassy carbon for a wide range of applications, such as studies on enzymes and catalysts, electrochemical sensors, galvanic cells, and the redox potentials of inorganic complexes, etc. Alternative electrode materials must be available in working electrode holders with a length of 110 mm and outer diameters between 6.5 mm and 7.5 mm.
Product Description
The macro (Ø = 3 mm) or micro working electrode (Ø = 10 µm / 11 µm) used in the Dr Bob’s measuring cell set can come into contact with a minimum of 1 ml or a maximum of 30 ml electrolyte volume.
The Pyrex® conical flask of the Dr Bob’s measuring cell set has a total of five connections. Three glass sleeves with an internal thread from ACE GLASS INC. Vineland / NJ ( #7 Ace – Thread) and two 14/20 ground glass sleeves. The vertical #7 Ace thread in the centre is used to attach the working electrode via a nylon or PTFE threaded bush, sealed by an O-ring made of FETFE.
A further #7 ace thread extending from the side is used in the same way to accommodate a Luggin capillary or a salt bridge for use with a Gamry reference electrode, which is held in the Luggin capillary via the single #11 ace thread with the corresponding threaded bush. The third #7 ace thread attaches a glass sleeve with a fused glass frit at the lower end and a platinum wire (150 mm Pt-wire; Ø = 0.4 mm) housed in it as a counter electrode.
A 14/20 core / #7 ace thread adapter with lateral hose olive (gas flow adapter) is used via the 14/20 ground joint sleeve to accommodate an inert gas supply for purging via a nozzle tube (bubbler), as an inert gas supply, for sampling gases or for venting. The second connection via the 14/20 ground joint sleeve is used as an addition for temperature measurements, the addition of reagents or also for venting. The connection can also be sealed with polyethylene plugs. The standard set includes a stand, which saves you having to work with the awkward combination of stand and stand ring. With the set including heating/cooling jacket, the Dr Bob’s measuring cell can be operated free-standing.
