Gamry eQCM 15M
Gamry eQCM 15M
The eQCM 15M quartz microbalance from Gamry can be used in a wide range of applications with high information density, thanks to its versatility across a very broad resonance frequency range, in combination with various holders and quartz crystals.Once a quartz crystal has been tuned to its specific resonance frequency between 1 MHz and 15 MHz, Gamry’s eQCM 15M impedance analyser can measure not only the series resonance frequency (fs) but also the parallel resonance frequency (fp) with no additional effort and without the need to eliminate interfering parasitic capacitances.
Product Description
The eQCM 15M from Gamry can be operated as a stand-alone quartz microbalance or as an electrochemical quartz microbalance in conjunction with a Gamry potentiostat/galvanostat/ZRA.
The synchronisation of the data acquisition between Gamry eQCM15M and Gamry Potentiostat/Galvanostat/ZRA is carried out via the Gamry software “Resonator”. In this way, you can relate (fs) / (fp) and current / voltage through synchronised tracking and assign mass changes to the potential and the current flowing. This benefits applications such as the investigation of electropolymerisation and galvanic metal deposition and dissolution, the further development of Li+ intercalation materials for Li-ion batteries, ion mobility studies in electrolytes for the further development of supercapacitors as well as corrosion and inhibitor studies.
Basic applications include preliminary checks of a correct cell structure, measurements in vibration-damping test media or verification measurements of the stiffness of a deposited coating. By manually controlling the excitation amplitude of the quartz within the software, meaningful experiments can be carried out even in highly damping media, such as ionic liquids or other highly viscous media. The versatile eQCM 15M quartz microbalance from Gamry thus offers an analytically valuable additional tool for researching interfacial phenomena.
