Gamry – Euro Corrosion Cell Set

Product Description

The cylindrical working electrode used (820-00005 = C1018 P/N 410 Series; L 12.7 mm; Ø 9.5 mm; 3-48 internal thread) from Alabama Specialty Products can come into contact with a minimum 125 ml or maximum 175 ml electrolyte volume in the Euro Corrosion measuring cell set. Made of Pyrex®, the EuroCell has a total of five favourable connections. Two glass sleeves with an internal thread from ACE GLASS INC. Vineland / NJ ( #7 Ace Thred), two 14/20 ground glass sleeves and one 24/40 ground glass sleeve.

The vertical 24/40 sleeve in the centre accommodates an adapter (935-00005 = Adapter, 24/40 to Ø 8 mm tube) for a glass tube (930-00039 = Tube, Glass, Electr. Holder, EuroCell), into the centre of which the working electrode can be screwed with a threaded rod (820-00036 = Threaded rod). To ensure that only the working electrode and not the metal threaded rod comes into contact with the electrolyte, two Teflon sealing elements (820-00004 = Sample Rod Centering Washer; 820-00001 = Teflon Compression Gasket) are provided above and below the glass tube, which are locked against the working electrode with a nut (850-00005 = Hex 8-32 x 12.7 mm).

A #7 Ace thread extending from the side is used to accommodate a Luggin capillary (930-00045 = Reference Electrode Bridge Tube) for use with a Gamry reference electrode, which is held in the Luggin capillary via the single #11 Ace thread with the corresponding threaded bush. The second #7 Ace thread attaches a graphite rod for use as a counter electrode.

A 14/20 core / #7 ace thread adapter with lateral hose olive (930-00033 = gas flow adapter) is used to accommodate an inert gas supply, for flushing via a nozzle tube with frit (930-00040 = bubbler), as a shielding gas supply or for venting. The second connection via the 14/20 ground joint sleeve is used as an addition for temperature measurements, the addition of reagents or also for venting. The connection can also be sealed with polyethylene plugs.
