Gamry Multi-purpose Corrosion Measurement Cell Set
Gamry Multi-purpose Corrosion Measurement Cell Set
The design of the multi-purpose corrosion cell set not only makes cleaning easy but also offers a high degree of flexibility for electrochemical corrosion experiments involving a wide range of specimen geometriesThe multi-purpose corrosion cell set has been designed for ease of use, reliability and easy cleaning. In addition to electrochemical corrosion experiments at a constant temperature, the optional heating and cooling jacket also enables temperature-dependent investigations to provide a better understanding of the heterogeneous redox reaction system in a 1000 ml volume of electrolyte.
Product Description
The high flexibility of the Multipurpose Corrosion Cell Set allows either custom specimen geometries using the removable top plate or the included Alabama Specialty Products working electrode and compatible geometries for the optional Flat Specimen Holder. Made of Pyrex®, the multi-purpose corrosion cell set has a total of seven connections. Three glass sleeves with an internal thread from ACE GLASS INC. Vineland / NJ ( #7 Ace Thread), three 24/40 ground glass sleeves and one SJ 28/15 spherical ground glass dish.
The vertical 24/40 ground glass sleeve in the centre accommodates an adapter for a glass tube in the middle of which the working electrode can be screwed on with a threaded rod. To ensure that only the working electrode and not the metal threaded rod comes into contact with the electrolyte, two Teflon sealing elements are provided above and below the glass tube, which are locked against the working electrode with a nut.
A further 24/40 ground joint sleeve is used to accommodate an inert gas supply for rinsing via a nozzle tube with frit or as a shielding gas supply. The third 24/40 ground joint sleeve serves as a reserve, for example for adding reagents or for venting.
The side SJ 28/15 spherical ground joint shell accommodates an adapter for a curved Luggin capillary for use with a Gamry reference electrode, which is held in the Luggin capillary via the single #11 Ace thread with the corresponding threaded bushing.
The range of movement of the spherical ground joint and the curved Luggin capillary ensure a very small adjustable distance between the working and reference electrodes. One or two graphite counter electrodes can be attached to the #7 Ace Threads for a more even current distribution. A further #7 Ace thread serves as a reserve for temperature measurements in bulk or also for venting.
