Büchi Midiclave high-pressure reactor
Büchi Midiclave high-pressure reactor
Working safely and comfortably under high pressureThe midiclave is a flexible high-pressure reactor designed for a pressure range of up to 200 bar. It can be operated with various interchangeable metal pressure vessels with a capacity of up to 1 litre, with or without sight glasses. Thanks to its built-in safety features and quick-release fastener, pressure reactions can be carried out safely and conveniently.
Product Description
The midiclave is a very flexible high-pressure reactor, it can be operated with various interchangeable metal pressure vessels and can be used for a wide range of applications. Whether you are carrying out hydrogenations, crystallisations, catalyst tests or syntheses, we have the right accessories. The 7 lid openings on the midiclave ensure that all attachments and internals can be accommodated.
You can use reactors from 100 ml to 1 litre with or without sight glasses on the same system, whether in stainless steel, Hastelloy C22 or other alloys.
The reactors can be used in the low temperature range or at extremely high temperatures. Whether you want a heating and cooling jacket or prefer electric heating, both variants are available from midiclave. The standard stirrer drive for hydrogenation and reactions with medium-viscosity media can be replaced by a more powerful stirrer drive for high-viscosity polymer reactions. Both drive types are also available as Atex-compliant versions. With the optional sight glasses, visual process control is possible even under high pressure.
A quick-release fastener on the lid in combination with the vessel lift provides the necessary safety during handling. You can easily clean the reactors or carry out a quick vessel change without tools. The compact and open, stainless steel frame fits into any fume cupboard and allows you easy access to the reactors.
Thanks to the use of FDA-compliant seals, pharmaceutical and food applications are also possible in the midiclave.

Options and Accessories
• Sight glasses / viewing ports: Observe what is happening inside the reactors. Büchi manufactures reactors with two sight glasses even for pressures of 200 bar or more: the tried-and-tested Büchi Type 4 reactors.
• Temperature control can be achieved either with a double jacket or the optional electric heating system with integrated water cooling and PID controller.
• High viscosities: Cyclone 300 magnetic stirrer for higher torque
• Various Büchi data system (bds) devices for 1–6 parameters and the corresponding bls software are available for data logging.
• A range of reactor bottom valves, burettes and other accessories allows for easy adaptation to changing requirements and applications.
• Manufactured to China Stamp or ASME certification.
