Depending on the process and process media, the plants are designed using different materials and manufactured to withstand pressures of up to 200 bar and volumes of up to 300 litres. Typical applications include pilot plants for process optimisation or process development, as well as production facilities for manufacturing small batches.

Büchi builds pilot systems for process engineering pressure and vacuum applications, primarily for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Depending on the process and process media, the systems are designed and manufactured in different materials with pressures of up to 200 bar and volumes of up to 300 litres.
A large number of openings in the cover plate allow the cover structure to be customised to your requirements. A large selection of pressure reactor accessories is available for this purpose. Additional sensors can also be fitted and the respective data displayed and processed by the Büchi display units. This modular design allows the reactor to be customised for new specific applications, e.g. hydrogenation (Fig. 2) or for dosing liquid, solid or gas.
By using FDA-compliant seals, pharmaceutical and food applications are also possible with the pilotclave.
The agitator of these pressure reactors is equipped with an (ATEX) magnetic coupling for low and high torques and ensures efficient mixing of low to high viscosity process media and efficient heat input and stable process temperatures.
The degree of automation and process control varies greatly, from simple data logging to complete recipe control of a single reactor or multi-reactor system.
Pilotclave systems are used in pilot plants and technical centres for process optimisation, process development and as small chemical production plants for the manufacture of small quantities.

• Temperature control can be achieved either via a double jacket or the optional electric heater with integrated water cooling and PID controller.
