Cole-Parmer CG-200 Freezer/Mill®
Cole-Parmer CG-200 Freezer/Mill®
The Cole-Parmer CG-200 Freezer/Mill® (formerly SPEX 6775 Freezer/Mill) – for sample sizes of 0.1 to 5 g, designed for grinding temperature-sensitive samples or materials that cannot be ground at room temperature.Your introduction to cryogenic grinding – ideal for small and very small sample sizes. The grinding vessel remains submerged in liquid nitrogen throughout the entire grinding process. Highly efficient, robust and intuitive to use. Manual filling with liquid nitrogen.
Product Description
Many samples such as polymers, foodstuffs, biological samples or active pharmaceutical ingredients cannot be ground conventionally at room temperature due to their consistency or heat sensitivity. During the automatic grinding process, the filled grinding container is permanently immersed in liquid nitrogen. This ensures the cooling and embrittlement of the sample as well as the permanent cooling of the material to be ground during the grinding process. Grinding is carried out continuously at a constant low temperature (-196°C), whereby the sample itself does not come into direct contact with the liquid nitrogen and is therefore contamination-free. The grinding programmes are entered and saved via an LCD touchscreen. This allows short set-up times and reproducible grinding results.
During grinding, only the grinding tool inside the grinding container is moved back and forth in a magnetic field, grinding the sample material at both ends of the container. There is no mechanical stress on the grinder and therefore hardly any wear. If the lid is opened during operation or if the liquid nitrogen level is too low, the system switches off immediately.
The Cole-Parmer CG-200 Freezer/Mill® cryogenic mill is filled manually with liquid nitrogen, has a grinding chamber and holds all available small grinding vessels in various materials with a capacity of 0.1 to 5 g.
Because of its capabilities, the Cole-Parmer CG-200 Freezer/Mill® cryogenic mill is often considered the last alternative for sample preparation when all else fails.
