Product Description
The Thinky ARE-312 enables highly efficient mixing without an agitator. Typical processing times are just a few minutes. The sample is also effectively degassed by the rotary movement.
The movement is a superposition of centrifugal and self-rotating movement. The ratio between the speed of the two movements has a major influence on the result.
Although this is a device without an integrated vacuum pump, a degassing mode is available which is sufficient for effective degassing with low to medium viscosity media.
The degassing mode is characterised by a lower ratio between self-rotation and centrifugal movement than in mixing mode, as centrifugal forces are primarily required here. A slight circulation ensures that the sample does not segregate.
In most cases, a mixing process is completed within 1-2 minutes, whereas complete degassing often takes 4-5 minutes – time in which the medium can continue to heat up, depending on the internal friction of the medium. This operating mode is suitable for temperature-sensitive media or if the temperature would exceed the permissible temperature of the cup material. Due to the low circulation rate, the medium heats up only slightly or not at all. In addition, a higher speed for the centrifugal movement can often be realised, which is also conducive to degassing.
The entire process is programme-controlled, i.e. you can programme up to ten consecutive steps, i.e. mixing or degassing with different times and speeds. Up to twenty memory locations can be assigned.
With the now integrated RS232C interface, the device can be controlled and data can be recorded via a PC. We supply the source code and a software example for Windows.
Compared to the previous model, the device has an additional unbalance sensor that detects an unbalance even faster and can switch off the device.
The new, highly efficient motor produces significantly less waste heat, so that the heating of subsequent samples by the cup holder in particular is reduced.
The same device is now used worldwide as it is compatible with all supply voltages.
